At St. Thomas, there are countless opportunities for adults to get involved in ministry and community life. Whether you're looking to deepen your faith, build connections, or serve others, there’s something for everyone. From Bible studies and small groups to outreach programs, volunteer opportunities, and social events, St. Thomas offers a welcoming environment where adults can grow spiritually, build meaningful relationships, and make a positive impact. No matter your interests or schedule, you’ll find a way to engage and feel part of the vibrant St. Thomas community.

O.W.L.S

(Older, Wiser, Livelier Seniors)

The O.W.L.S. (Older, Wiser, Livelier Seniors) are a group of people, 55 and older, who enjoy each other's company once a month.  Come for lunch, a movie, a walk through a garden, a ride on a carousel and a fountain of other activities that vary from month to month.  Each month's activities are posted in the bulletin and on our weekly announcement page under Connect.

Please contact Marian Ludlow or Lynn Furlong for more information.

Men's Ministry

Men are actively involved in all areas of ministry at St. Thomas!  Here are some of the primary ways our men connect with one another.

Saturday Morning Men's Group

Every Saturday | 8 - 9 am | Room 300/302

First, the men gather for breakfast - donuts, bagels, bananas, juice and coffee.  A devotion is offered with lively discussion; often the group will sing together.  here is a lot of laughter and fun.  It is a time to be refreshed before the weekend activities begin.  The group is very informal and no two Saturdays are alike.  We are here to encourage and support, and to walk side by side with each other.   Communion is offered quarterly.

Currently, the men are meeting both in person and virtually on Zoom.  Please email either leader below for more information on how to participate.

Connecting Through Service

  • Food Pantry - many men help pick up food at a variety of area grocery stores and serve throughout the week and on Saturdays in our Food Pantry.

  • Mission Teams - If you like tools and enjoy building projects, there are a number of mission teams both local and overseas each year.

  • Lawn Care Team - On Thursdays during the warm months, a group of 8 to 12 of our retired men gather to mow the lawn.  If you are interested in joining the team, please speak with Cliff Farrar.

  • Snow Removal - During the winter months many members of our Men's Group come together with the Trustees to shovel and salt the sidewalks of our church campus for our church family and Sunbeam families to get in and out of the buildings safely.  If you would like to be a part of this team please contact Don Rickerson.

  • Tuesday Night Dinners & Sunday Morning Breakfast - A few times a year, Men's Group will host Sunday morning breakfasts or Tuesday Night Dinners.  There is usually no charge for these meals but a love offering is greatly appreciated.  The proceeds from those offerings are used to help support Men's Group missions.

Women's Ministry UWF

(United Women in Faith)

The UWF (formerly the UMW - United Methodist Women) is the main women's ministry at St. Thomas.  The UWF seek to be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.  They accomplish their purpose through small groups (circles of faith), mission activities, retreats, special events and outings throughout the year.  Come and join this active group in the life of St. Thomas.
