We are excited that all Sunday School classes for children, youth and adults will be back on August 29! Come and discover a deeper faith and the greatest adventure of your life as we dive into the Bible together through a variety of classes designed for all ages and stages of life.
All chidlren will check in on the first floor before heading either to the Nursery (infants & toddlers) or the Children's Worship Center (preschool - 5th graders) where they will experience an engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson. This year, the older chidlren, lead by our Children's Ministry Director, Kristi Swanson, and a cadre of volunteers will be using Grow Kids Curriculum -- you can learn more here. All children and adult leaders are required to wear a mask while in the Education wing and parents are asked to pre-register their children to ensure we can maintain adequate social distance measures during class. Hybrid options will be available too via Zoom.
Our youth, led by Perry Bailey, will be using the Jesus Studies Curriculum, which journeys throgh the following real-life issues teenagers face, each using a four-lesson framework:
Jesus and Identity, Jesus and Your Faith, Jesus and Culture, Jesus and Loving Others, Jesus and Tough Times, Jesus and Your Image, Jesus and Stress, Jesus and Forgiveness, Jesus and Influence, Jesus and Relationships, Jesus and Your Future, Jesus and Mean People, and Jesus and Stuff.
This fall, youth will be meeting in the upstairs gathering space in the Youth Center, (formerly known as the Original Church Building) and will be required to wear a mask (as will their leaders), and will continue to observe social distancing guidelines throughout the class. Zoom option will be avaiable as well.
The Story of Scripture: The Unfolding Drama of the Bible - When it comes to knowledge of the Bible, many people know bits and pieces, favorite stories and characters, but they don't know the story that is really one story in Scripture. Join Paula Renfro, as she helps the class explore Robbie Castleman's book that will help you put the story of God and his people together. This group is an entirely online gathering through the end of 2021.
Lessons from the Bible Project - This video-based curriculum led by Pat Dodson, helps people experience the Bible in a way that is approachable, engaging, and transformative. It does this by showcasing the literary art of the Scriptures and tracing the themes found in them from beginning to end. This class has both in-person (Room 306) and zoom options.
Second Corinthians - This is an in-depth study of Paul's second letter to the Corinthians in the New Testament. Led by Earl Amstutz in Room 300 and via zoom.
